Block modulus precoding for blind multiuser detection of DS-CDMA signals

چکیده
In this letter, we propose a blind multiuser detector based on a new data precoding technique for direct-sequence codedivision multiple-access signals. In this technique, the modulus of all users' data is block encoded, using a sequence that is unique for each user. This precoding method, together with the analytical constant modulus algorithm for detection, enables a closedform, one-shot detection of the desired user's signal in a multipath channel using one or more antennas. The detection process does not involve or require a channel estimation step. The proposed detector is shown to be extremely near-far resistant, and can operate properly in the presence of severe carrier frequency offset.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems
Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...
متن کامل1 Successive Blind Detection of DS / CDMA Signals
This paper provides an investigation into the performance of a multi-stages constant-modulus filter/ signal canceller (CMA/SC) for blind detection of direct sequence/code code division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) signals over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. A simple stochastic gradient algorithm for implementing the scheme is presented and the convergence properties of the algorith...
متن کاملAdaptive Transmitter Precoding for Time Division Duplex CDMA in Fading Multipath Channels: Strategy and Analysis
The recently developed blind adaptive techniques for multiuser detection in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems offer an attractive compromise of performance and complexity. However, the desire to further reduce complexity at the mobile unit has led to the investigation of techniques that move signal processing from the mobile unit to the base station. In this paper, we investigate tra...
متن کاملBlind PARAFAC receivers for DS-CDMA systems
This paper links the direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) multiuser separation-equalization-detection problem to the parallel factor (PARAFAC) model, which is an analysis tool rooted in psychometrics and chemometrics. Exploiting this link, it derives a deterministic blind PARAFAC DS-CDMA receiver with performance close to nonblind minimum mean-squared error (MMSE). The propos...
متن کاملBlind Channel Estimation and Multiuser Detection for Multi-rate Cdma Communications
The future wireless communications systems should be able to offer wide variety of applications, which have vastly different quality of service (QoS) requirements. The time-variable QoS may require the support of variable bit rates on the wireless links to the individual users. Multi-rate DS/CDMA is a promising basis on which to support the variable bit rates on the individual wireless links. C...
